Lube - what's the difference?

Postby Lana-staff » Fri Dec 11, 2009 7:23 pm

This is Lana, a staff member at Positive Passions, doing a test post on the new forum but also posting a question I get asked a lot: What's the difference between all the different types of lubricants, and is one type better for one type of sexual activity? What's the difference between silicone and water-based lubricants?

One of my other staff members can answer this, or I will post the answer myself in a couple of days!

I have tried lots of different lubes with really varied success. I am really sensitive so anything that has flavour tends to irritate my vagina. Through trial and error, I have found that for me Astroglide works for every type of sexual activity. But every girl has different pH levels and different lubes will work for you. If you rub a lubricant between your thumb and forefinger for about 30 seconds and it stays nice and smooth, not tacky or sticky, then it will probably be compatible with your body type!
